ISEM 2020 Online Yapılacak
ISEM Başkanı Prof. Dr. Eyüp DEBİK tarafından akademisyenlere yapılan açıklama şu şekilde:
“As the COVID-19 pandemic spreads across the world and poses serious threats, some measures must be taken to promote the health and safety of everyone. Our organizing committee has decided that the 5th International Symposium on Environment and Morals (ISEM2020) will be held virtually and all presentations will be made online on 24-25 September 2020. This will be done in cooperation with the Environmental Foundation, ÇEKUD, Academic Platform and Yıldız Technical University.
The main theme of this symposium is “Interactions of Urbanization, Migration, and Environment”. This is one of the most important agenda items of modern times, as migration events have significant effects on the social and physical environment of society. It is important to examine this issue in-depth and to be effective decision-makers.
Although efforts are being made to solve the increasingly important environmental problems, it is generally seen that the search for daily solutions continues. Problems such as carbon emissions, uncontrolled production policies, and air pollution continue to threaten the viability of the world. Although this is a global problem, it is noteworthy that serious preventions have not been taken. It is also a frightening fact that regional environmental problems grow and become global issues.
Problems such as climate change associated with carbon emissions, very serious uncontrolled production policies in some countries and air pollution continue to threaten the viability of the world. Although this situation is considered on a global scale and takes place at the daily news, it is noteworthy that serious preventions are not taken. It is also a frightening fact that regional environmental problems grow and become global problems.
Organized nationally in 2013 and then in 2014, 2016 and 2018, the International Symposium on Environment and Morals (ISEM) pioneers the way ahead in presenting and discussing environmental problems, as well as their causes and effects. ISEM is a rare international platform where environmental problems are discussed with experts in technical, economic, and social fields.
There are many reasons for the emergence of environmental problems. Among some of these reasons are excessive productions, unnecessary consumption, and also waste. Environmental issues cannot be considered independent of moral values.
In the emergence of environmental problems, besides excessive production and unnecessary consumption, there are many reasons such as waste. Therefore, it is clear that the issue of environment cannot be considered independent of moral values.
Factors such as change and deterioration of individual and social values are on the basis of environmental problems. The disappearance of some universal human values, which can be expressed as moral values in general, and the transformation from sociality to individuality are also important factors that increase these problems.
The main subject of ISEM is the tight connection of the environment with moral values, which are increasingly felt and have fallen off the agenda in national and international platforms. It is evident in these symposiums that the moral values we have forgotten have the potential to offer solution-oriented approaches that are also important for the environment.
The symposium will bring together scientists from all branches to discuss the issues from different areas, the source of these issues, and put forth real solutions. The symposium is planned to be attended by industry representatives, non-governmental organizations and public institutions, as well as scientists.
We would be honored for you to join us at this symposium, either as an audience member or a contributor.
